Match Play:

Two person teams compete to win each hole. The team with the fewest strokes wins that hole. Scoring is very simple. Win a hole, your team scores 2 points. Lose a hole, that's a zero. Each team scores a 1 point for a tie. The team winning the most holes wins the match.

Better Ball

Each team member drives from the tee. Choose your better ball. Pick up the other ball and place it beside the better ball. Each team member then hits from that spot. Once again, choose the better shot, pick up the other ball and continue as above.

Shotgun Start

Teams will tee off simultaneously from different holes. We will play in foursomes, 2 two-person teams, beginning at holes #1, 3, 5, and 7. If there is a tie at the end of 9 holes, there will be sudden death playoff beginning on hole #7 then #8, #9 or until there is a winner.

The Game

At 3:00 PM, 22 players teed off from five different holes for the Shotgun start and an afternoon of fun.

Announcement

Eileen announces  1st & 2nd tie

First Place Playoff Teams

Second Place Playoff Teams

Eileen explained that because we had 22 players, one team played against themselves and of course scored the maximum 18 points. So Jeff and Bev played Muffie and Ron for the first place prize. Muffie hit the pole with her second shot from 65' to win on the hole of the sudden death playoff. (On this course, hitting the flag pole is the same as sinking the ball.)
